WRITING
From long, ponderous prose set in far away fantasy lands to compelling literary reportage to sardonic media reviews to technical writing to straight journalism, I continue to write for purpose and pleasure. Here are a few examples.

RINGLING COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN
Creating Excitement
Ringling College of Art and Design
Admissions Sizzle
In this Addy Award winning sizzle video, the goal was to create an upbeat, fast paced vertical slice of the Ringling College experience for potential students. This video had to work both as an online deliverable as well as an in person warmup for Ringling recruiters who were visiting high school campuses.
Aiming in New Directions
Ringling VR Major Launch Video
Ringling launched the first BFA in Virtual Reality. The goal was to create a two minute web video that would demonstrate the inaugural class's enthusiasm for the major while defining and establishing it as a distinct, separate entity from the school's Game Art program.
Finding the story...fast.
Ringling at Sundance Film Festival
While accompanying Ringling Students to their film's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the goal was to produce daily advertainment videos for social media that would highlight the trip for promotional purposes in a way that felt like emotionally resonant entertainment. Armed with a single DSLR and a laptop, each day's video had to be sculpted out of what was captured, tell the story of the day, and be delivered by midnight.
The Process of Presentation
Ringling at SXSW
Ringling students worked in collaboration with the interactive company Flight School to develop a VR game, which they premiered at SXSW. However, this did not only involve Game Art students. Students from all majors were involved in developing a unique, memorable, and multifaceted brand activation. This video is a sizzle reel of that day, from set-up before dawn to celebration after dark.
From Classmates to Colleagues
Ringling Alumni at Nickelodeon
As one of the best metrics for success is illustrating the places Ringling alumni end up working, I was often tasked with chronicling them. In this case, I visited Nickelodeon's Times Square studios for a personal profile of a dozen former Motion Design students, their success, and their continuing, post-collegiate personal and professional relationships.
Chronicling Success
Ringling Alumni at Hasbro
As part of Ringling's Alumni Leader series, I traveled to Providence, RI to capture interviews with two former students now working with Hasbro. The goal of this video was to demonstrate their relationship with their current respective jobs and assess the roll that Ringling played in finding and securing them.
Extracurricular Energy
Students at Payne Park
For the Admissions Department, as part of a series of testimonials about what it's like to live and learn in Sarasota, I followed a pair of students to Payne Park. The aim was to contrast the high energy of skateboarding with the intimate reflection of Sarasota in general.
Sense of Place
Students at Lido Beach
For the Admissions Department, as part of a series of testimonials about what it's like to live and learn in Sarasota, I followed a student to Lido Beach. The aim was, again, to contrast the excitement of Sarasota's beaches during the day with the calming serenity of a gulf coast sunset.
