Creating the ability to create.
Since 2014, my major contribution to games has been the toolset that I have created for retro development. The goal was to create a tool chain comparable to modern IDEs that could actually output real, cartridge playable games for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Considering the system's absurd limitations, It has been an incredible challenge to apply some sort of verisimilitude to modern game creation tools, but we've watched the user community grow to close to ten thousand users worldwide.
For this project, I am director, lead programmer, and general frontman. Since this has been such a point of focus, many of the projects you see on this page will be tangentially related, though prior to NESmaker, i have a long history working in and teaching Unity..
Mystic Echoes (PC)
When Death is Absent...
After waking in the strange vestibule of the land of the dead, young Majorie discovers that the aura of the recently deceased is trapped by a nefarious imposter posing as the Mystic of Death. In this brawling platformer, navigate a metaphysical forge full of nightmarish manifestations on a mission to free the dead.

I have always been very passionate about teaching, and have been doing it for fifteen years now. I am humbled by the fact that dozens of schools all over the world are using the NESmaker tools I have developed to teach both the history of game development and an introduction to the logic of game programming. I have also continued to develop learning resources, including a diverse series of deconstructed NES games intended to help beginners learn the basics of the NESmaker toolset and the basics of 6502 Assembly Language.

In this fun mouse button mashing strategic puzzle game, the goal is to keep the blood flowing through the brain around the forming blood clots. To control the flow, use the left button to add an artery section and the right to remove one. The longer you play, the faster the heart will beat.
