I built Bitmask Games from the ground up, and handle both the day to day business as well as the student instruction. At the studio, I teach students, aged six to well over sixty, how to create video games. Bitmask games also has a publishing arm, specializing in games for legacy systems such as the NES.

As Developer Relations Manager, I help foster community engagement with OCP's flagship game, Project Frontier, a sandbox RPG that encourages players to become creators with the game's built-in CreatorLab tools.

As product manager, I coordinated with a team to conceptualize new, exciting audio production products and bring them to market.  From evaluating consumer trends and needs to developing mock ups and prototypes to building mass media campaigns with marketing and sales to working with global contract manufacturers, I helped the company maintain over $130.5 million in average annual revenue. One major product I helped to conceptualize and develop, and sub-brand I helped launch, was M-Game and its line of game streaming interfaces.

As part of the Communications and Strategies department, my job for 9 years was to devise and implement marketing strategies to help make Ringling College the preeminent arts college. From helping to create branding campaigns to developing suites of video content for student recruitment, to chronicling alumni success stories, to covering live events, I continually adapted to serve the needs of the department and the institution. Additionally, I teach courses as part of the adjunct faculty for the college.

2014 - 2024

 

I launched this company with a small personal investment in 2014. Since, it has produced an award winning documentary currently on Amazon, several video games, a comic book series, and most notably, a game development software tool, for which I am also lead programmer.  I have managed the team, the project, and the brand from its conception through its development, past its launch, and to its success.  The tool, NESmaker, is now used by over 5000 active users globally, and is part of classroom instruction to teach game development in over two dozen schools and universities.

At FDHS, I taught as part of the Recording Arts, Media, and Production program, where I passed on my knowledge of music production, filmmaking, and game development to eager young minds. In the summer of 2008, I helped advise in the writing of the state curriculum for game development, which I then piloted.

Beyond formal work history, I am a creative.  I have created marketing campaigns, filmed documentaries and narrative films, composed music and soundtracks, written novels, written for comics, written for magazine publications, designed for video games, and developed software.  I have managed teams through creation of transmedia properties, given guest lectures at educational institutions such as UCLA and University of Baltimore, given panel discussions at events like PAX, SXSW, and GDC, and am a permanent student of the arts with a lifelong passion for expression through various mediums.

As part of the inaugural class for the Electronic Media and Film major, I explored analogue and digital audio recording, shooting and editing films on both digital formats and film stock, traditional and new journalism, and a broad analysis of mass communication strategies.
