From long, ponderous prose set in far away fantasy lands to compelling literary reportage to sardonic media reviews to technical writing to straight journalism, I continue to write for purpose and pleasure. Here are a few examples.
Here, I have put together a few different samples of work that I've done for the Communication Strategies department at Ringling. The needs of these campaigns were diverse, so these videos vary greatly in tone from one to the next. Obviously, video is only part of what I do, however with video being such an important component of any marketing strategy these days, I feel my video work may be the most indicative of my role. Please feel free to examine the rest of this online portfolio for examples of copywriting, management, gamified content, and other tangentially related work.
What is not seen in these video deliverables, but was overtly present for each, is the concept, planning, production, management, and post mortem evaluation, and how each fit into a larger multimedia campaign.

Admissions Sizzle
In this Addy Award winning sizzle video, the goal was to create an upbeat, fast paced vertical slice of the Ringling College experience for potential students. This video had to work both as an online deliverable as well as an in-person warmup for Ringling recruiters who were visiting high school campuses.
Aiming in New Directions
Ringling VR Major Launch Video
Ringling launched the first BFA in Virtual Reality. The goal was to create a two minute web video that would demonstrate the inaugural class's enthusiasm for the major while defining and establishing it as a distinct, separate entity from the school's Game Art program.
Illustrating Why It Matters
Avant Garde
Office of Advancement, Ringling College
When tasked by the Office of Advancement to create a video for the annual Avant Garde fundraising event that would demonstrate the personal gratification in the act of giving, I knew that the best approach would be to find a personal story. This video was played for potential donors at the event. Avant Garde has, to date, raised close to three million dollars for student scholarships.

As a promotional video for the Ringling Golf Tournament, which helps raise student scholarship funds, the secondary goal with this campaign was to illustrate to Sarasota business owners the direct benefits of helping Ringling College attract the best artists from around the world.

The end of the 2020 school year was all about finding ways to turn negatives into positives. Just like at other schools, Covid negated the possibility to have live events such as Commencement. The goal with this campaign was to validate the hard work of the graduating class through a series of virtual and interactive experiences despite the pandemic, culminating in this address by the president.
